Tim had a great performance today in front of the Senate Subcommittee On Investigations. Why wouldn’t a huge company take advantage of certain tax “loopholes”? What Apple is doing is legal and, frankly, pales in comparison to some of the really dirty tactics many other companies exploit.

I think people generally support President Obama because, when faced with difficult situations, he’s poised and focused. The GOP, on the other hand, look silly and, more importantly, out of touch.
This puts both companies in very good positions. Watching Yahoo! and Tumblr move forward will be interesting (and exciting).
In full context, the quotes the DOJ has selected out of this email don’t sound conspiratorial at all.
Some of these Republican House Judiciary Committee members are ridiculous. The point of these hearings is to gather information, not to create a political spectacle. Save that for the campaign trail.
Now, here is a guy who is sensible.

It’s nice to see previews for a sci-fi movie set in, or close to, the modern day. The direction of Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men, Y Tu Mamá También, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, etc.) makes this a must see.

The US is a bit behind in addressing this situation in a serious and proactive manner. Don’t even get me started on the plethora of issues with insecticides and pesticides.
I’m actually surprised this didn’t happen sooner. Windows XP is not necessarily what I’d call “stable.”
Of course, all of this is speculation, depending on which media sources you believe. If you know Apple’s history with Sony, it’s no surprise that they are the hold out. I will say this: If Apple can implement a well-designed music streaming platform, I’d jump ship, IN AN INSTANT, from Spotify (sorry, my Swedish pals).
This interview (follow the link for the video) with Yahoo! CEO, Marissa Mayer, is great. She’s charismatic, intelligent, and seemingly down-to-earth. She will definitely be someone to keep a close eye on in the years to come.
Yeah, congressional Republicans will say they’re just doing their job, but it seems to me that they really enjoy stalling progress. Plain. Simple. The examples, like this one, are endless.
